Hope you’ve all well endured the utterly beastly heat we’ve been having.
Please note our meeting location is, as usual, at All Saints’ Church and not at Lower Merion High School, as we had hoped. The high school, at the last minute, requested we add them as an additional insured on our insurance policies and also told us we would have to pay overtime for their custodial staff, which we declined to do. So, many thanks to All Saints’ for agreeing to host us at the last minute.
Please remember we have a very important meeting this Tuesday night with LMPD Superintendent Mike McGrath, newly promoted Lt. Gene Pasternak and Sgt. Robert Ruggiero, the new traffic safety sergeant, about the vast traffic issues we have as an area. We solicited and received excellent and thoughtful comments from our neighbors about their concerns. Many thanks to WCA board member, Tony Lame, for his terrific work in putting together the compendium of comments you’ll be able to get at the meeting. If you want to see it before the meeting, please send the WCA an email. You will note great similarity in the issues reported — hopefully, we will be able to communicate our concerns to the members of the Lower Merion Police Department who will be attending our meeting and will be able to begin to devise constructive solutions to the issues raised.
WE VERY MUCH WANT A GOOD TURNOUT AT THIS MEETING TO SHOW OUR VERY SPECIAL GUESTS WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE WITH RESPECT TO TRAFFIC ISSUES. PLEASE INVITE YOUR NEIGHBORS TO ATTEND AND RSVP SO WE’LL KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE TO EXPECT.
ON ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT FRONT TO OUR QUALITY OF LIFE, we will also hear about the plans for new development at the Wynnewood Shopping Center. Some of them may be good; others, not so much. Representatives of Federal Realty will be at this meeting so talk about what Federal intends to do. This is another very good reason for you to attend.
Hope to see you on Tuesday — our last meeting until September!
