Join Us for an Opportunity to Help Shape the Future Development of a Key Wynnewood Property

Please join us on Monday, October 24th as Wynnewood residents get a unique opportunity to help shape development plans for a property many consider a major eyesore in our community. The property in question is the large parcel, across from the new Whole Foods, on the northeast corner of Lancaster Avenue and Wynnewood Road. It presently is occupied by an abandoned gas station and an abandoned bank building. Its choice location is now the subject of intense interest from developers.

Chris Leswing, Lower Merion’s Assistant Director of Building and Planning, will meet with Wynnewood residents to discuss possible development alternatives for this site. His goal is to enhance the appearance of that gateway to our community. The meeting is being jointly sponsored by the Wynnewood Civic Association and the Shortridge Civic Association. Examples of other developments in the township will be offered that could serve as models for what could be built on this site, if the zoning were to allow it.

This is a welcome opportunity for our community to try to reach consensus about what we would like to see built on this site. We rarely get a chance to consider development parcels BEFORE plans are set in stone so we encourage you to come out, voice your opinions and support Chris in his efforts at community outreach.

The meeting will be on Monday, October 24th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Katherine’s Day School, 930 Bowman Ave., Wynnewood.
