More Congestion at LMHS?

School-BusThere is an urgent need for your attendance at a special meeting of LMSD School Board on Monday, November 24, 8:00 p.m. in the LMHS Auditorium.  The topic is the  Lower Merion School District (LMSD) Administration’s and Board’s proposals for addressing an increase in  School Bus Parking needs associated with the growth of students in the district.

The LMSD Administration and Board of Directors have several options being evaluated to address the issue.  However,  the option of most concern to the Wynnewood Civic Assocation (WCA) is the proposal to add a parking garage/deck on the LMHS campus to accommodate a growing bus inventory in lieu of locating buses at other locations in the township.

WCA has been most concerned with the increased density of activity around LMHS which has been accelerated by the School Board’s decision late last year to increase the choice zone, enabling the LMHS student population to disproportionately grow relative to Harriton High School.  Traffic safety in and around LHMS is deteriorating and the addition of a parking garage will only add to the density of activty and further degrade pedestrian/vehicle safety in the surrounding community.

Please attend the meeting on Monday evening to voice your concern to the further densification of the LMHS campus.  WCA members will be in attendance to help coordinate our response to make sure our opposition to a parking garage on the LMHS campus is heard.

The Wynnewood Civic Association Board of Directors hope you can attend on Monday evening to assure the voice of Wynnewood residents is heard.
