Please note that our next meeting is being held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 7:30 pm at All Saints’ Church and not on Tuesday, our regular meeting night. This change was made so we are in compliance with our bylaws which require the report of the nominating committee be submitted to the board of directors 20 days before the Annual Meeting. Our Annual Meeting is on Sunday, December 16th at All Saints’, and we have a great and fun program planned along with our holiday party.
Our newsletter is at the printers, the postcard about the annual meeting has been printed and is at the mail house and should be in the mail on Friday, so look for it. And, we — finally — have great news to report about the terrific board we have recruited for next year! We have a full board with many new faces from different neighborhoods in our area and many of our long-time board members have agreed to return to the board. So, the news, at least on these fronts, is all good.
We’ll talk at the meeting about LA Fitness and Federal Realty and the fact that both have been very slow to respond to any requests we’ve made. The next Zoning Hearing Board meeting on this matter will be held on December 6th, and we suspect we’ll have to put on a full court press after Thanksgiving to get ready for it. For now, though, let’s all take a break to enjoy this great holiday of Thanksgiving. After what we’ve seen of the devastation wrought by Superstorm Sandy, we certainly ought to have much gratitude that our area wasn’t hit as badly as it could have been. Some may have lost power but it’s back on now so we have a lot to be thankful for!
